As one of this year's most marketed titles, it's inevitable that Assassin's Creed 2 would be receiving a Special or Collector's or Limited Edition of some sort. The game's Twitter account showed off the Limited box recently, available exclusively through GameStop. It features the game (obviously), a statue of Ezio, an art book, and two exclusive in-game maps. One is the previously reported Palazzo Medici, and the other is the Santa Maria dei Frari in Venice. As far as we know, these added environments are for parkour-style exploration rather than additional missions.
As usual the price is being kept under wraps for now. Other special editions with similar goods tend to be set at $69.99, though the popular Assassin's Creed brand could conceivably push it a bit higher than that. We'll let you know when we hear something official.
