Army of Two: The 40th Day Gets DatedSequel to take the popular route and avoid being anywhere near Modern Warfare 2.By Steve Watts, 08/13/2009EA has given an official release date for Army of Two: The 40th Day. The game will apparently be avoiding the hornet's nest of a certain other numbered sequel, and is instead set for early next year on January 12. This dodges a proverbial bullet this year, but puts it into an increasingly crowded 2010 season. The company also announced that pre-orders will gain exclusive access to the "Extraction" multiplayer mode. In it, four players take on waves of enemies while moving throughout a stage. This makes it sound similar to Horde mode from Gears of War 2, but perhaps with more motion involved to get to new areas. Check out our hands-on preview if you want more info before plunking down your pre-order dollars.
