Despite Obama, his wife Michelle, and Oprah Winfrey flying to Denmark this week to make a pitch for Chicago to host the 2016 Olympics, the IOC announced earlier that Rio de Janeiro would host the 2016 Games. Rio de Janerio won in a landslide over Madrid.
