The golden rule for avoiding arrest by the police is to never draw attention to yourself. A Vancouver drink-driving suspect failed massively at this, as he crashed into a police car after driving erratically the wrong way down the road... while wearing a clown suit.
A police officer in suburban West Vancouver was searching for suspects involved in a fight early on Sunday when he spotted the man driving at him on the wrong side of the road.
The officer stopped his own car and turned on its emergency lights to warn the other driver - who nonetheless crashed head-on into the cruiser at between 12 and 19mph. Fortunately, nobody was injured in the smash.
The man was then found to be dressed as a clown.
The 29-year-old is now facing various charges, including impaired driving. Police said in a statement that the clown 'will have some explaining to do in court.'
