Vince McMahon reached out to Hulk Hogan before he signed with TNA to gauge his interesting in hosting the Nov. 16 edition of WWE Raw at Madison Square Garden. With Hogan out of the picture, there is plenty of speculation that Roddy Piper will be the guest host of said show. However, there is also talk within WWE that the company hopes to land members of the New York Yankees to host the MSG show.
Vince had been reaching out to Hogan regarding the Raw guest host role and other projects in the days leading up to his signing with TNA. However, multiple sources report that Vince didn't see the Hogan to TNA move coming. The decision to hold the press conference in the mall area at MSG in New York was an intentional shot at McMahon due to his family's long history with the building. As for the MSG show, obviously the Yankees would stir up mainstream publicity that Piper wouldn't produce.
