JEFF HARDY UPDATE

Jeff Hardy's probable cause hearing yesterday was continued to Wednesday 12/2. The hearing, spurred by Hardy's arrest this past September on a number of drug charges, will determine if (a) a crime has been committed and (b) if the defendant (Jeff) probably committed it.
The Fayetteville Observer reported that Hardy was not present at yesterday's hearing. His attorney, Jeff Van Camp told the Observer that Hardy originally intended to attend the hearing but did not as drug test results from a lab had not returned. It would appear the hearing was pushed back to accommodate those results.
If the determination is made that Jeff probably did commit the crimes he was arrested for, the case would then be passed on to a Grand Jury. The Grand Jury would review the evidence and make a decision regarding whether or not to criminally indict Hardy on the following charges:
*Felony possession of cocaine.
*Felony drug trafficking of opium
*Felony possession with intent to redistribute a Schedule III drug (two counts).
*Maintaining a dwelling for drug use and/or distribution.
*Possession of drug paraphernalia. (misdemeanor)
Should Hardy end up indicted, he would then be transferred to Superior Court to be tried, unless he opts to make a plea bargain somewhere along in the process.

Wrestler's hearing changed to Dec. 2

CARTHAGE - A drug trafficking case against a Moore County wrestler was continued Wednesday in District Court.
A probable cause hearing for Jeff Hardy, a professional wrestler from Cameron, has been rescheduled for Dec. 2.
Hardy, 32, did not appear in court. He was represented by his Pinehurst lawyer, Jim Van Camp.
During a recess, Van Camp said Hardy had planned to attend but they had not received a report from the drug lab.
Hardy was arrested Sept.11 during a search of his home. He was charged with several drug offenses, including trafficking in opium and prescription pills, and possession of anabolic steroids.
Officers seized about 262 Vicodin prescription pills, 180 Soma prescription pills, 555 milliliters of anabolic steroids, a residual amount of powder cocaine and drug paraphernalia, according to the Moore County Sheriff's Office.
The estimated street value of the drugs was $2,500.
Hardy is perhaps best known as one-half of the wrestling tag team partnership, The Hardy Boyz. His brother, Matt, makes up the other half.
