Yahoo Sports published a list of the Top Ten worst flops in pro football during the 2000s decade with Vince McMahon’s XFL coming in at the #2 worst flop.
The Detroit Lions signing Matt Millen as General Manager in 2001 ranked #1 on Yahoo’s List.
Yahoo’s description of how the XFL flopped actually focused one of the real issues that doomed Vince McMahon’s one-season football league in 2001.
“Ultimately, it wasn’t doomed by any of the wacky ideas or intense focus on cheerleaders; it was doomed by awful, awful football,” said Yahoo.
