After failing to hit the 171-pound weight limit for his UFC 108 welterweight scrap with Dustin Hazelett, the two have agreed to meet at a 172-pound catchweight tomorrow night inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Normally, contestants that don’t hit their required marks are allowed an additional two hours to lose the extra weight. However, MMAWeekly.com is reporting that the Nevada State Athletic Commission will not allow Daley to do so because he already “appeared wobbly” after failing to make weight on his first two attempts.
According to the site, the Commission felt that any further weight cutting would be far too taxing on his body and they didn’t want to expose the Brit to that kind of health risk.
Fortunately for MMA fans, the fight is still a-go, unfortunately for Daley, he will be tagged with a 20% fine. Hazelett will be rewarded 10 percent of Daley’s to-show salary, while the NSAC will pocket the remaining 10 percent.
