ECW on SyFy Report - January 19th, 2010

We begin with a look back at last week’s ECW Homecoming Over the Top Rope Challenge that let us find out who would face Christian at the Royal Rumble. That man will be Ezekiel Jackson.
We are live on tape from Greenville, South Carolina and your announcers are Byron ‘Welcome to the D-Lo Center’ Saxton and Josh ‘Can I be a Raw Guest Host’ Mathews.
We start off tonight with the greatest segment in the history of Sports Entertainment. It is time to go to The Laughing Hall of Famer Tony Atlas and he tells us that Santino Marella is going to be filling in for Abraham Washington and his guest will be Vladimir Kozlov. Santino welcomes everyone and says that Abe has some intestinal problems. Santino with some small talk with Tony Atlas. Santino with a few Italian lessons for Tony. Santino brings out his guest, Vladimir Kozlov. He tells Vladimir to relax on the couch. Santino tells Vlad that he is the fourth option for a guest because he wanted an immigrant. He also says that he didn’t want to be upstaged. Vladimir says that he was involved with some bad people. Vladimir talks about his time in a Ukrainian motorcycle gang. Vladimir says that he likes the United States, but people cannot get over Rocky IV. Santino says that he sees the resemblance between Vladimir and Ivan Drago from the movie. Santino asks Vladimir what he likes about America and he mentions chili cheese fries, Hannah Montana, and 24 hour Wal-Marts. Santino says that they have a lot in common so they should become a tag team. Santino suggests that they become a tag team and Kozlov is not really into the idea. After pestering Vladimir, he emphatically says no. Santino decides to cut things short.
We see Goldust and Yoshi Tatsu walking in the back and we go to commercial.
Match Number One: Yoshi Tatsu and Goldust versus Trent Barreta and Caylen Croft
Croft and Goldust start and Goldust with an arm drag. Goldust with a drop kick and slam to Croft followed by an arm drag into an arm bar. Barreta tags in and Goldust with a hip toss and arm drag into an arm bar. Yoshi makes the tag and Goldust with a reverse atomic drop and then he slingshots Barreta into Yoshi for a forearm. Yoshi comes in and he hits a somersault senton followed by a series of arm drags and an arm bar. Yoshi with a drop kick that sends Baretta to the floor. Yoshi goes to the apron and Barreta tries to take him down but Yoshi avoids Trent. Croft distracts Yoshi and that allows Barreta to pull Yoshi off the apron. Barreta rolls Yoshi back in and he tags in Croft who kicks Yoshi and works on the leg and connects with a leg drop. Croft with a reverse chin lock. Yoshi with a kick but Croft keeps Yoshi from getting to his corner.
Barreta tags in and he kicks Yoshi and then he hits a standing drop kick. Barreta gets a near fall and then he applies a reverse chin lock. Barreta with a forearm to take Yoshi down. Barreta with an Irish whip and then he hits a leaping elbow into the corner. Croft tags in and he hits a drop kick and gets a near fall. Croft with a front face lock. Barreta tags back in and he stands on Yoshi’s head. Yoshi with a chop and forearms but he cannot make the tag as Barreta keeps him away. Yoshi with a spinning heel kick and he struggles to make the tag and he succeeds. Goldust with clotheslines to Croft and he hits the drop down uppercut. Goldust with a bulldog followed by a power slam for a near fall. Barreta sends Yoshi to the floor. Goldust has Croft rolled up but the referee was distracted by Yoshi and that allowed Barreta to hit a clothesline and Croft gets the three count.
Winners: Trent Barreta and Caylen Croft
We see the Speidi of ECW, Zack Ryder and Rosa Mendes walking in the back as we go to commercial.
We are back and did you know that you couldn’t fit the viewing audience of the WWE in the four largest cities in the United States.
Zack Ryder comes to the ring with Rosa Mendes and he is going to address the crowd. Zack reminds us that he ended Tommy Dreamer’s ECW career so he is now the heart and soul of ECW. He talks about how Hurricane got in his face, but Hurricane learned that he is the man in ECW. He wants everyone to refer to Zack as the new Heart and Soul Superhero of ECW. Zack has Savannah come into the ring to introduce Zack again and she complies. He wants Savannah to put more into the introduction. Rosa speaks in Spanish and insults Savannah for her job.
Meanwhile, Hurricane comes out and he hits a cross body on Ryder after punching Zack.
While Zack and Rosa watch from the ramp, Hurricane returns to the ring and poses. We go to commercial.
We are back and it is time to run through the card for the Royal Rumble and they even included the ECW title match.
We have a video package showing the feud between Vance Archer and Shelton Benjamin and they will wrestle on Thursday night on WGN America.
Match Number Two: Christian versus William Regal with Ezekiel Jackson in a Non Title Match
They lock up and Regal backs Christian into the corner and he gives a clean break. They lock up again and they roll around the ring until Regal connects with a knee and then he gives Christian an arm drag as he starts to work on the arm and hand. Christian with an arm wringer as he works on Regal’s hand. Regal with a kip up and he tries for a reversal and he takes Christian down and gets a near fall. Christian with a near fall while they are in a knuckle lock. Regal takes Christian down. They return to a vertical base and Regal returns to the arm and he stretches Christian. Christian with punches to Regal followed by a back body drop and Regal rolls to the floor. Christian with a hesitation drop kick and then he goes out after Regal and brings him back into the ring. Regal sees Jackson approach him on the apron and Christian goes to the floor and gets in Jackson’s face as we go to commercial.
We are back and Christian has Regal in a side head lock. We see footage from the commercial when Christian hit a cross body on Regal for a near fall. We are back to the action in the ring and Christian with shoulders in the corner. Christian with an Irish whip but Regal with forearms and kicks for a near fall. Regal with an arm bar and chin lock and he turns it into a full nelson. Christian escapes the hold and he tries for a back slide but Regal kicks Christian in the leg to stop the move. Regal chokes Christian in the ropes. Regal with a forearm to the chest followed by a back elbow for a near fall. Regal with a modified cobra clutch on Christian. Christian with punches but he runs into a forearm from Regal. Regal gets another near fall. Regal continues with the rear chin lock. Christian tries for the Killswitch but Regal avoids it and hits an Exploder. Regal kicks Christian in the head and Christian’s head hits the ring post. Regal with an elbow drop and then he punches Christian before getting another near fall. Regal with a knee drop and then he works on the neck with a nerve hold. Christian with an inside cradle for a near fall. Regal with the running knee to the head but Christian with punches. Christian with a side head lock but Christian with a running forearm. Christian with a tornado DDT to Regal and then he gets another near fall. Christian goes to the turnbuckles again and he hits a drop kick from the second turnbuckle. Christian goes up top and he misses a missile drop kick when Regal moves out of the way. Christian with a jackknife cover for a near fall when he avoids the running knee. Christian with a sunset flip but Regal rolls through and connects with a knee to the head. Christian goes to the turnbuckles again and hits a back elbow and he tries for the Killswitch but Regal is sent to the floor. Jackson attacks Christian from behind and then he slams Christian.
Winner: Christian by disqualification
Regal hits the running knee to the head and then Jackson hits the uranage on Christian.
He hits another uranage as we go to credits.
