Sources in WWE just confirmed the ECW on SyFy series will indeed go forward under the name WWE NXT, with NXT standing for "Next Generation."

Hmm...not a dumb name. I would have prefered Nitro, TNT or even Heat or Velocity, but this could be good.
I guess they are gonna push newer superstars on that brand from now.

They're trying for something new, so bringing back an old name would be stupid.

As for the ECW title, I imagine they'll debut a new world title to replace it. Not sure if Christian would be the de-facto champ or if they'd strip him and have a tourney or something. (Even though that would be stupid, but I can see it happening.)
