Is the ECW Title Still Active?

WWE’s website has confirmed that the ECW Title is retired. There was speculation last week that it may be kept around as a mid-card draw for some pay-per-views but it looks like that idea was shot down.

What would be the point of keeping the title around if the brand is gone? I'm glad they retired the title, along with everything else ECW-related. It's just too bad they did it 3 1/2 years too late.
