WWE Diva Mickie James had surgical procedures yesterday and today in an attempt to clear out a bad staph infection.
The location of the staph infection has not been revealed as of press time (looks like lower leg), but it's bad enough that doctors advised James to undergo the surgery immediately which she has done.

James confirmed this on her Twitter account which was the original source of this news. She posted a photo of her leg wrapped up in a large cast.

Mickie James posted photos on her twitter account of her leg being immobilized, so that's where the staph infection we wrote about last night was located.

Most likely. If she didn't have to have surgery they most likely would have kept it on her.

Hope she gets better soon, although the timing sucks... I can't imagine WWE will want the womens title on her again soon, as it appears they want to keep Trish's record of holding the title so stand, and not have another Diva having more title reigns than her.

Hope Mickie gets better soon though :)

Well... I don't know if it'd be that big of a deal, but even if that was the case, Trish had 7 reigns and Mickie only has 5, so she could still have at least another one.
