Oasis have sparked panic among fans they are to split after announcing they are releasing a greatest hits collection.
The band are bringing out a two-disc double album, featuring their favourite tracks and B-sides, called Stop The Clocks on November 20.
The group - brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher, Andy Bell and Gem Archer - have picked the 18 featured songs themselves. It is believed hit singles Supersonic, Wonderwall and The Importance of Being Idle will be included.
However, the announcement has sparked rumours among worried fans that Oasis are deciding to call it day, as Noel has insisted on several occasions the band would only release a greatest hits record if they were splitting up.
He said last year: "This is from the horse's mouth. We will only do a best of when we split up. I never understood Blur putting out best ofs. I mean, what the f**k's all that about? It's kind of saying that whatever you're gonna do from there on is not gonna be your best. We'll put out a best of when we stop. No best of or singles album until it's done and dusted."
It is believed the album will also contain new song Stop The Clocks - originally recorded for the band's last studio album Don't Believe The Truth - as well as popular B-sides Acquiesce and Half The World Away.
Despite fans concerns, the band's spokesperson has insisted Oasis have no plans to split.
They said in a statement: "Having spent 10 months on the road in support of the 2 million selling Don't Believe The Truth, Stop the Clocks is released as Oasis take a well earned sabbatical prior to starting work on new material. As such, this is not a full stop, but merely a time out."
