Shakira is planning to build a school for children in Haiti.
According to The AP, the popstar visited the country over the weekend to search for suitable land to build the institution.
Her Pies Descalzos foundation will finance the construction of the new school.
The 32-year-old met with families and infants living in tent camps at the Petionville Golf Club course in Port-au-Prince, home to 50,000 survivors of the recent deadly earthquakes that struck the region.
Sean Peen greeted Shakira, and the two spoke about challenges confronting Haiti since the January 12 quakes.
