Some interesting notes from the annual WWE shareholder meeting. The meeting was chaired by Vince McMahon with all the major board members including a heavily pregnant Stephanie McMahon:
* There will likely not be a brand extension into Europe for at least a decade.
* WWE plans to partner again with 7-11 this year as they did for SummerSlam 09.
* There will also be a merchandising campaign with Burger King featuring John Cena, Triple H and Undertaker toys.
* Stephanie McMahon called the Raw guest host concept bigger than late-night TV and Saturday Night Live.
* The company is still looking into launching its own TV network, and the concept remains it airing mostly in-ring action and complementary programming to Raw, NXT and SmackDown. Vince is also maintaining that the network with give WWE more leverage when negotiating TV deals.
* Vince is fairly pleased with WWE Films. While they're not raking in cash, all but one have been profitable.
* NXT will likely stay on TV for its second season and not go web-exclusive.
* Vince revealed that one of the major reasons WWE decided to move SmackDown to Syfy is the many, many local preemptions for sporting events.
* Finally, Vince again said he has no plans of returning to the ring, but added that he always plans to stop, but it winds up happening anyway.
Vince McMahon also talked about the PPV price increase on special WWE PPV's such as WrestleMania he notes this is due to fans watching the PPV's on one TV set as a group as opposed to individually purchases the events.
