Eduardo Alonso has revealed UFC light heavyweight champion, Mauricio “Shogun” Rua could step inside the octagon with Middleweight champion, Anderson Silva and UFC Hall Of Famer, Randy Couture to help cement his legacy in the Light Heavyweight division.
Speaking via Tatame Magazine, Alonso said:
“The motivation is natural as long as the challenges show up. We got great fights ahead: we can have Lyoto in the future, a revenge with Forrest Griffin, a fight with Anderson Silva for the future if this is the UFC wish… We’d like Mauricio had the chance to fight the legend Randy Couture before his retirement.”
Rua won the Light Heavyweight championship back at UFC 113 in May by defeating former champion, Lyoto Machida via knockout in the first round.
Speaking via Tatame Magazine, Alonso said:
