WWE.com was finally able to contact the newly signed Jeff Hardy earlier today. Here are a few of his comments:

"I didn't need [rehab]," said Jeff adamantly. "When I was released from WWE, it wasn't just about demons or demonic metaphors that relate to drug use. I failed numerous drug tests because I just didn’t care…didn’t care to wrestle anymore. A sense of me believes that it might have just been a way out [of wrestling]," he added. That's in the past, and that’s forgotten about. I'm in a positive place now…and that's what motivates me."

Jeff also noted that he's been following his brother on television every single week since his departure from WWE in April 2003. Jeff looks forward to joining his former partner in the ring and on the road. It appears as though that Jeff will be a part of the SmackDown brand.

Matt Hardy also commented on his brother's impending arrival. He is ecstatic to say the least. Matt said, "Regardless of what's happened – through thick and thin – [Jeff and I are] there for each other. WWE is his home, and he was put on this earth to wrestle," said an elated Matt. "I'm ecstatic that he's coming back home. It makes me look forward to the future."

Also, Matt would love to team up with Jeff once again. "I would love nothing more than to team with Jeff again," added Matt. "He loves to go out there and entertain fans and inspire people and tell them they can beat the odds. We were two normal guys who made it to the big time. We want to send that message out to other people. If you have a dream," he said, "you can chase it. You can do it."

In closing, Jeff said, "I'm ready to jump off bigger ladders and go through thicker tables. I just gotta let it fly."

Unless he's put on the same show as Matt with Matt looking out for him I don't think he'll last back. I doubt he's fully over any addiction he might have (drugs or not showing up etc.) just look at his TNA track record.

I love the guy but I seriously don't think he'll be around for long.

Though I do think they should put Shannon, Greggory, Matt and Jeff all together... Reunite the Carolina Boys oh and chuck Lita into the mix as well... Come on Matt and Jeff are nothing without Lita (if they bring back Team Xtreme and use Ashley I will cry).

Get your tissues ready then kaz because i have a feeling it will be ashley if they do reunite. Interesting points about the drug addiction; we'll wait and see. It will definately be appropriate for a hardy boys reunion. Tag team division needs strengthening with a big team like the hardys and matt needs to get out of his continual cycle of midcard semi existence. Win a match, do a job, win a match, do a job, win a match, do a job.....
Can't wait to see the hardys back.
