All of the advertising for World Wrestling Entertainment's 9/25 Smackdown house show at Madison Square Garden is now focused on WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart returning to Madison Square Garden for the first time in thirteen years. Hart will be teaming with WWE Tag Team champions The Hart Dynasty against three members of the Nexus at the show.
It will be Hart's first appearance in MSG since a 9/22/97 Raw taping where Hart, then the WWF champion, defeated Goldust in the main event of the broadcast before going on to defeat the Undertaker and Shawn Michaels in a Three-Way bout that closed the taping as a dark match.
To put that show in historical perspective, it was two months before the Montreal Screwjob, featured the final appearance of Brian Pillman in MSG prior to Pillman's death a month later, was the event where Mankind "morphed" into Cactus Jack and where Steve Austin nailed the Stone Cold Stunner on Vince McMahon for the first time. Talk about a lifetime ago.
The remainder of the MSG event will feature:
*WWE World champion The Undertaker vs. Kane.
*Christian vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Matt Hardy for Dolph's Intercontinental Championship.
*Big Show vs. Jack Swagger.
*Kofi Kingston vs CM Punk
*MVP vs. Cody Rhodes
*Kelly Kelly & Rosa Mendes vs. Lay Cool
*Also scheduled to appear are Drew McIntyre, Chris Masters
, Alberto Del Rio, Joey Mercury, Luke Gallows, Chavo Guerrero and Teddy Long.
