In regard to Matt Hardy's claim of being the "Pioneer" of interacting with fans online, the first wrestlers that actually did that were Marc Mero and Brian Pillman on the old AOL Grandstand Wrestling area in 1995. Mero was actually introduced to the area by a fan he met in a Christian discussion area and began posting. Pillman was second and would often play up his "Loose Cannon" persona in 1996 with postings on AOL (right down to getting banned from the service several times for violating their Terms of Service) and Diamond Dallas Page, ECW founder Tod Gordon and the late Lou Thesz soon followed. So, while Hardy has done a lot of interaction, he was hardly the "Pioneer." If anyone should get that nod, it's Marc Mero.
