Tom Wright, the head of the UFC's Canadian operations is talking about the UFC's first trip to Toronto, which is being targeted to take place during midway of 2011.
Speaking at the UFC 124 press conference in Montreal, Wright said:
“We hope to have it completed by the end of the year, and we’ve already had discussions about a venue in Toronto. It … might just be sandwiched between Montreal and Vancouver next year, so it will be great.”
Wright also commented on the possibility of the Fan Expo coming to Toronto, saying:
“I think if we bring a Fan Expo to Canada, most likely it would come to Ontario. Last week, we met in Vancouver to bring our second fight there. We’ve already had conversations about bringing our first event to Toronto, and that’s where we would probably hold a Fan Expo.”
UFC President, Dana White has been pounding the issue of the UFC being legalized in Toronto many times, with a very huge fan base in Canada, its only a matter of time before the world number one MMA promotion make their way to Toronto.
