It was explained on WWE television that Mark Henry missed Raw due to a personal situation with his family. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Henry's brother Patrick Henry suffered a stroke on 10/3, and was in intensive care. Henry's brother has five month old twins and no medical insurance and a local television station in Texas was pushing raising money for donations.
