They opened with a video package of Kane and Paul Bearer, before cutting to Edge when he said he had a plan. They then showed Edge kidnapping Paul from last week. They hyped up the captain vs captain match as the mainevent tonight leading to Survivor Series. Ricardo introduced our first captain Alberto Del Rio.
We got a video of Alberto teaching Slaughter a lesson from Raw, just like he will to Rey. Alberto said he broke their action figure and would become a hero. MVP came out and said the fans were asking him to punch Del Rio in the mouth. He talked about Alberto disrespecting the ring. He said they’d seen this act before, that Del Rio’s were a dime a dozen and that it was the legends who paved the way for them.
Del Rio said the only reason MVP holds the legends in such high regard is because he will never be one, but Alberto Del Rio is already a legend. MVP said he should start Survivor Series tonight with a legendary beatdown. Del Rio said there would be a fight tonight, Alberto Del Rio against Rey and that MVP couldn’t handle him. But if MVP really wants to fight, he can have someone from Team Del Rio, The Chosen One Drew McIntyre.
Match Number One: MVP Vs. Drew McIntyre, Survivor Series Preview.
Drew worked on the left arm of MVP after some action outside. MVP came back with a suplex and Ballin’ but was again cut off with a push kick to the bad arm. Finish sought of came from nowhere as Drew missed a charge in the corner and was hit by MVP’s Driveby boot to the head for the pinfall.
Winner: MVP.
Edge was in the back saying he had to believe Kane will be the most maniacal, the most dangerous he’s ever been. We zoomed out to see he was talking to a still bound Paul. Edge asked what the matter was and as soon as he removed the tape Paul screamed for Kane. The tape was replaced and Edge said they were in town but no one would ever find them. Edge got in a wheelchair that was next to Paul and had a wheelchair race. Paul didn’t move so he slowly went back and got in Paul’s face again. He said he thought of a fun game to play and they cut away. Both were good here.
In the back Chavo was complaining to Teddy when Kane burst in. Chavo left and Kane breathed heavily before sitting down and asking where his father was. Long said he had no idea and Kane yelled that he was lying and started throwing furniture around the room. Long escaped.
Match Number Two: Chris Masters Vs. Jack Swagger, Survivor Series Preview.
Awesome escape from Swagger to avoid the Masterlock early. It was just about on and Swagger walked them to the ropes and jumped over the top rope landing on the apron so that Masters was inside the ring and Swagger was standing on the apron with the hold having to be broken. Swagger then dropped to the outside, attacked the leg and slapped on the ankle lock for the submission.
Winner: Jack Swagger, Submission.
Edge was back with Paul and said he’d need to be fast to avoid Kane, stick and move, use agility. He said Paul could help him by showing his agility. He got a soccer ball and said they’d play a little dodgeball. He threw a few dummy throws at the wall, then one to the gut before finally NAILING him in the head. It hit hard.
Kaval was already in the ring when Dolph came out for their match. Vickie was there again and Dolph said all of his problems were behind him. He said he had the hottest girlfriend in the world and is undefeated as IC champ. He said after beating 500 pound Henry he’d have no problem with Kaval, a nobody. He then made fun of the internet.
Match Number Three: Kaval Vs. Dolph Ziggler w/ Vickie.
Kaval threw Dolph’s shoulder into the post after being pounded on for a while. Commentators really harped on how Kaval has yet to win a match, hint hint. Kaval missed a splash in the corner and was about to be hit with the ZigZag but held the ropes. They traded rollups and Kaval turned an attempted tights pull into an awesome tie up and got the three count.
Winner: Kaval, Pinfall.
Kaval’s celebration was so great. He jumped into the ref’s arms and the ropes and to the outside. He grabbed a mic on top of the announcer’s table and said ‘that nobody just beat you’. He then said he also won NXT which gives him a title shot and he’s made up his mind, as it will be Dolph Vs Kaval at the PPV and there will be a new champion. His delivery was great and the people responded to it at the end.
Edge was getting his cardio up for Kane by running around with the wheelchair. He said he had built up a bit of an appetite and was going to go get some pizza.
Match Number Four: Kofi Kingston Vs. Dolph Ziggler, Survivor Series Preview.
Cody took a great bump off a slap to the face. He stormed outside and kicked the steps before finding his jacket to make sure he was still pretty. Cody came back and put a beating on Kofi. Kofi came back with aggressive offence of his own and got a two count off of a high splash. He hit the Boom drop but missed Trouble in Paradise. Cody missed his springboard kick and was nearly rolled up. Kofi went to run the ropes but Cody used one hand to grab the tights and one to grab the hair and pulled him back into the Cross Rhodes for the pinfall. This really built and was better than you’d expect, crowd loved it by the end.
Winner: Cody Rhodes, Pinfall.
Kane was in the back yelling saying he was the only one who ever understood him. Looked like he was talking to Rosa. He said Edge was now playing games with him but he had no idea what torture was. He said when he finds him, Kane would teach him about torture.
Match Number Five: LayCool Vs. Natalya & Kelly Kelly.
Kelly started strong with Layla. Natalya then came in and worked on Layla. McCool got a blind tag and hit a double boot on Natalya with Layla for the pinfall. Ok, really short.
Winners: LayCool, Pinfall.
Edge was eating his order and started drenching Paul in food, who was still taped up. He said he thinks they were ready to go see Kane. After an ad we were back to Kane who was hyperventilating. He started crying.
Match Number Six: The Big Show Vs. Tyler Reks, Survivor Series Preivew.
Show was in a Knucklehead shirt. Reks got the better at the start, even knocking Show off his feet. Show caught a kick from his knees then hit the chokeslam and got the pinfall. Quick.
Winner: The Big Show, Pinfall.
Josh was then introduced in the back with Alberto. He noted how going into the captain versus captain match they were locked at two and two. Alberto said Rey wasn’t a survivor and he was about to become a hero. They then played a Cena video package leading up to the biggest night of his career.
Edge was in the carpark and started calling for Kane. He removed the tape so Paul could call for him. Edge then wheeled Paul into a car and we cut to Kane running down the corridors. Paul was in a big van that was open. Kane ran in an asked where Edge was, Kane looked around and Edge jumped off the top of the car and threw Kane around. Edge then got in the driver’s seat and said we were going to find out if Paul floats.
Match Number Seven: Alberto Del Rio Vs. Rey Mysterio.
Del Rio started strong but Rey threatened the 619. Del Rio dropped to the outside to avoid it and hit entire team ran down and attacked Rey.
Winner: Rey Mysterio, DQ.
Rey’s team ran down and a huge brawl started. Long came out and said if everyone wanted to fight tonight then so be it. He made it a battle royal.
Match Number Eight: Survivor Series Preview Battle Royal.
Big Show was slap happy to start. Cody took Masters to the ropes but was thrown over himself. Cody Rhodes eliminated.
Rey nearly had Del Rio over with a headscissors but instead Masters was sent over. Chris Masters eliminated.
Reks was sent over by Kofi’s legs. Tyler Reks eliminated.
Kofi was nearly backdropped off by Drew but held on to the apron. Drew then hit a boot that saw him drop off. Kofi Kingston eliminated.
Swagger quickly sent MVP over. MVP eliminated.
Show threw Drew over. Drew eliminated.
Rey sent Del Rio over with the rana. Del Rio eliminated.
Two on one with only Swagger left with Rey and Show. He got Rey with the ankle lock but Show booted him into place for the 619. He then locked on the choke for the chokeslam but instead pushed him forward as Rey pulled the rope down.
