The Los Angeles Times has a story on the surging popularity of Reby Sky, a 24-year-old Playboy model who hosts Lucha Libre USA: Masked Warriors on MTV2 and pro wrestling talk show Busted Open on Sirius 125/XM 241.
Sky wrote last week on Twitter that she had rejected a contract offer from World Wrestling Entertainment, which caused a spike in online searches related to her. Searches pertaining to Reby Sky broke the top 20 in Google Trends twice this week. The spike in interest caused her website to shut down due to capacity issues.
The tweet, which has since been deleted, indicated that she could not accept WWE's offer due to her contract with MTV.

Reby Sky, the New York Giants super fan who can be seen gracing the pages of men's magazines, has found a new way of gaining attention.
Tuesday news began to spread that the model had turned down an offer from the World Wrestling Entertainment league.
The news had Web searchers asking, "Who the heck is Reby Sky?" The spike in interest was enough to shut down the 24-year-old's website RebySky.com due to capacity problems: a.k.a .too many people hammering her servers.
So who is she? The young sports fan was the quarterback of the Tampa Breeze in the Lingerie Football League during the 2008-09 season. In 2009, she was voted by Howard Stern fans Miss Howard TV 2009, an honor bestowed upon scantily clad female hosts of the shock jock's cable on-demand channel.
That lead to her current role on Sirius XM co-hosting the pro wrestling talk show "Busted Open." Meanwhile, she is the host and color commentator for the MTV2 wrestling program "Lucha Libre USA: Masked Warriors."
Young, talented, beautiful, and entrenched in wrestling. The perfect combo to work for the WWE?
Not if you're under contract with MTV, Sky says.
In a now-deleted tweet, Sky complained that she had a "weird day" because she couldn't accept an offer from the professional wrestling giant due to her contract with the cable company.
"Weird day. Just had to turn down WWE (per my Lucha Libre USA contract). Very weird day," Sky tweeted last week.
The move to the WWE, the Vince McMahon-led company once known as the WWF, would have gotten the former Playboy model more exposure than she had on satellite radio and MTV2, but the fact that she couldn't move has all eyes on her anyway.
