"Dexter" -- the show about a charming serial killer -- was used as bait to lure a Las Vegas showgirl to her death ... this according to investigators.

According to the Las Vegas Metro Police Department, 31-year-old Deborah Flores-Narvaez told her roommate she was going to her boyfriend's house to watch "Dexter" on December 12 ... the last day she was seen alive.

Cops believe when Deborah got to her BF's house, the two got into a fight -- and the BF choked her to death. Cops believe the BF -- an alleged scumbag named Jason Griffith -- then chopped off her legs and buried her in cement in an effort to hide the body.

Eventually, Jason's roommate -- who was allegedly involved in hiding the body -- informed police about the killing and led cops to Flores-Narvaez's corpse.

Griffith was arrested and charged in connection with the murder -- and according to the Las Vegas Sun, he told police the killing was "not a premeditated thing."

Mmm that's the risk these type of shows take. Some psycho will go out and copy what he saw on the tv.

It's quite pathetic when they try to claim a tv show or game etc is to blame because some nut job/**** killed someone.

Agreed.

In this case though, by the sounds of things Dexter had really nothing to do with anything. He didn't copy what he saw on there or anything, it just says that she was going to his house to watch Dexter, it could have been any show, really.

Did that actually happen on Dexter though? Chopping someone's legs off and burying them in cement? lol. I don't watch the show, so I don't know.

With or without Dexter anyone with half a brain can surely work out that if you need to disperse of a body, chopping it up would make it a hell of a lot easier, less conspicuous and generally seemingly likely to have a better chance of it not being found.

Goes to show you, never have someone help you get rid of the body.
