UFC President Dana White officially confirmed in a conference call earlier today regarding the upcoming UFC Fight For the Troops event that former UFC Heavyweight Champion and former WWE Superstar Brock Lesnar will not be appearing at WrestleMania 27 this year due to Lesnar being under an exclusive contract with the UFC. WWE had been hoping to score Lesnar, who was announced today as a coach for the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter opposite Junior Dos Santos, but with this news, those plans will not be going through.
Mike Chiappetta, a reporter for MMAFighting.com, took part in the conference call when White confirmed the news about Lesnar not appearing at WrestleMania. Chiappetta had the following to say on his official Twitter page...
"No interim title on the line for Dos Santos-Lesnar. Winner will fight Cain V. And Dana says Brock is not doing Wrestlemania either."
