Many British fans may be shaking their heads at such a prospect but there is a rumor floating around that WWE Chairman Vince McMahon has been linked with buying British football club Newcastle United from current owner Mike Ashley. A spokesman for the club said they would not comment on such "nonsense."

WNS

There was a rumor going around in The UK over the weekend that Vince McMahon was in the running to buy the Newcastle United soccer team. It was rounded debunked in Britain and given the pounding that the WWE stock took on Friday afternoon and probably will continue to take today, I don't see Vince in the market for major purchases right now. In case you missed it, the WWE stock closed at $13.50 in Friday. Then the company sent out a press release that instead of earnings for the fourth quarter being $0.16 a share, they would be $0.08 to $0.10 a share. The stock tumbled more than a dollar in after-hours trading. We will be watching what it does on the open today.

If it said Shane was considering attempting to purchase them then I might take it more credibly.

I really can't see this happening at all.
