RICKY Gervais is reportedly set to bring back Mr Ben.
The Hollywood funnyman is said to be interested in producing and starring in a movie version of cult classic kids’ TV show, which was loved by millions in the UK when it was first broadcast in the Seventies.
“Ricky was and still is a huge Mr Ben fan,” says a source close to the star.
“He’s always on the look out for exciting projects and this one has huge potential. It would be a family movie and live action rather than animated.”
Gervais recently admitted he hates having to travel far to get to work.
“I get offered these great scripts all the time, and I say, ‘How long is the shoot?’ They say 35 days, and I go, ‘Oh really, where is it?’ If the answer is not near my house, it’s usually a no,” he said.
“The questions I’ll go through, I only need one no, and I usually get to it before the bottom: ‘Who else is in it? Do I have to wear a wig? Can I do my own accent?’
