Welcome to a very special edition of Superstars. Your host is Scott Stanford and we are going to take a look back at some of the best moments from Raw in 2012.

This is the first of two best of episodes.

Scott mentions the feud between John Cena and the Rock leading up to Wrestlemania 28. Here is a look at one of the bigger confrontations from the March 12th episode of Raw.

Here is Rock’s promo segment from the end of the show:

Dwayne makes his way to the ring and he has his guitar.

Dwayne tells everyone that they just broke a record. It is the largest sellout crowd in Cleveland. He says that he appreciates people chanting Rocky, but they should be chanting Cleveland. Dwayne talks about sell outs and he mentions Marky Mark. He talks about the chain, the lock, and his hat. He says that was funny. That wasn’t John Cena. The John Cena we have known for the last 8 years is what would happen if Vanilla Ice banged a Teletubby.

We have a graphic of what Dwayne just said and then he explains it.

Tonight isn’t about a two minute rap. It is about something special. Dwayne takes a seat and he gets ready to sing.

Warden threw a party and he spent some bucks. Didn’t invite Cena cause he totally sucks. Cena started rapping, it all went south. Know your role Jabroni and shut your mouth. Let’s rock. Everybody let’s rock. Cena’s got a menstrual clock, but we’re dancing because Cleveland Rocks.

Little Fruity Pebble from Newberry, Mass. Rock’ll take his boot and shove it up his ass. Betcha you’re all happy you’re listening to me, not some goofy Eminem wannabe. Let’s rock. Everybody let’s rock. Ain’t no balls down in Cena’s jock, but we’re dancing because Cleveland Rocks.

Dwayne takes some water and then he asks if people want to hear a true story. He got it from John Cena’s doctor.

Little Johnny Cena went to the doc. Rock punched his jaw and the pain wouldn’t stop. The doc said Cena . . . I’m a fan, but stop begging for that rectal exam. Let’s rock. Everybody let’s rock. Cena close up that smock, but we’re dancing because Cleveland Rocks.

Dwayne has a story about John and Eve.

Rock saw cena making out with Eve. Grabbing on her thigh, tugging on her weave. Cena didn’t tell her that he’s got a wife. Let’s rock. Everybody let’s rock. Divorce lawyer’s right up the block, but we’re dancing because Cleveland Rocks.

Dwayne has another true story.

April 23rd, 1977. The doctor shouted send that baby back to heaven. Sorry Mama Cena, but check these charts. Little baby Johnny’s got lady parts. Let’s rock. Everybody let’s rock. Little Johnny’s got those lady parts, but we’re dancing because Cleveland Rocks.

Dwayne thanks everyone and he says that they are going to have fun. Dwayne asks if there are any grown men tonight who are John Cena fans.

Dwayne says that he sees a few. Time for a song.

Doesn’t really matter how hard you try. Never in your life will you ever taste pie. I know you love Chewbacca and Frodo too, but you’re a walking virgin and you’re 42. Let’s rock. Everybody let’s rock. You dress like Kirk and Spock, but we’re dancing because Cleveland Rocks.

Dwayne wants to know where the ladies are tonight and he has a special song for a special lady.

Rock’s getting some wine and a dozen roses. She’s going to meet his Holy Moses. Getting with the Rock is the bomb. You don’t believe me, ask Cena’s mom. Let’s rock. Everybody let’s rock. Cena’s mom can barely walk, but we’re dancing because Cleveland Rocks.

Dwayne says that there is only one way to end this night and the Rock concert. There is only one song and it is for the people. It is for Team Bring It and the people.

Time for a lot of catchphrases from Dwayne.

Dwayne tries to sing We Will Rock You with his own twist and he almost gets a few of the lyrics right.

Here is the footage from John Cena’s promo at the start of the show (that we saw some clips mixed in Rock’s promo):

The first WWE Idol contestant is John Cena and he is going old school with the Mark Price jersey. Cena says that Rock wanted him to write his song tonight, but he would not be his mouthpiece. He says that Rock is like Lebron. He took his talents to South Beach. For the past few weeks, Rock has been legit pissed. He tells Rock that if he sings his song tonight, it is all in his wrist. He wants a week where Rock does not choke. He says that he might be GI Joe this summer, but he is a GI Joke. Rock has been begging him to back off. If Rock and Dwayne are the same person, they are both jackoffs.

After April 1st, he won’t be making any more movies. He will need surgery on his face, just like he had it on his boobies. Those popping pecs have had more work on them than a locker room of Divas. He has a gift for Rock. He is going to give him a Cleveland Steamer.

Team Bring It is Team Lost It. Last week, they weren’t chanting Rock, they were chanting Tooth Fairy. Keep making fun of him. He is not even close to sick of it. He is Mr. Kung Pao Chicken, while Rock is Miami Fried Chicken S***. He does not have balls, he has something in his place. He is going to beat Rock at Wrestlemania and put his nuts in Rock’s face.

We go to the Raw after Wrestlemania when the Rock addressed the Miami crowd after his victory at Wrestlemania:

Rock guaran-damn-tees that this is just the beginning. The Rock, since Wrestlemania, has had a vision. That vision is that the Rock will one day walk down that aisle as the jabroni beating, pie eating, trailblazing, eyebrow raising, one vision in mind, don’t need no revamping, gonna be WWE Champion.

Rock says that it will come true one day if you can smell what The Rock is cooking.

The Rock will get his chance at the WWE Title at the Royal Rumble.

We go to commercial.

We are back with a look at the April 2nd episode of Raw and John Cena’s comments after losing to the Rock. Cena says that he will own up and admit defeat. He lost to the Rock at Wrestlemania. John says that there is not one moment where he thought that he was going to lose. He is not here to call out the Rock. He invites the Rock to come to the ring, not to fight, but to show Dwayne his respect for him. He considers the Rock the greatest superstar in the WWE. He wants to acknowledge that Rock was the better person and congratulate him on his victory.

Instead of The Rock, Brock Lesnar makes his way into the arena and he goes to the ring.

They shake hands and then Brock gets Cena up for an F-5.

Scott talks about the build for Extreme Rules between John Cena and Brock Lesnar.

Brock Lesnar came out on April 30th and confronted Triple H. Here is what happened:

John Laurinaitis distracts Triple H and that allows Brock to attack Triple H from behind and apply the Kimura and it broke Triple H’s arm.

They would meet at SummerSlam.

Here is what happened on July 23rd:

It is time for Triple H to come to the ring in a more serious tone because he has to deal with Brock Lesnar and his challenge for SummerSlam.

We see the footage from three months ago when Lesnar attacked Triple H.

Hunter asks everyone if they are having a good time. Hunter says that he had his fun so it is time to pick up the intensity a bit. Hunter says that he knows that Brock Lesnar is here. He wants to fight Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam. Hunter says that he wants an answer and he wants it now.

Brock Lesnar’s music plays and Paul Heyman makes his way to the ring.

Hunter says that he came out to talk to the horse’s head, not the horse’s ass.

Paul says that he is impressed with Hunter’s negotiating stance since the last time. He says that his client Brock Lesnar is here. Paul asks Hunter if he wants to fight Brock and main event at SummerSlam. Paul tells Hunter that Brock’s answer is . . .

NO.

Hunter says that he is tired of that crap. If Lesnar doesn’t want to come out like a man, he will get Brock.

Paul reminds Hunter that he already has two lawsuits against him and WWE and now he wants to risk a third. He asks if that is good for business.

Hunter says that he doesn’t care. He wants to know if Brock is such a coward he doesn’t want to come out and say it to Hunter’s face. He asks if Brock is a bully or a coward. Is Brock afraid of him?

Paul wants to know if Hunter is going to resort to name calling to get Brock to fight him. He wants to know if that is the way Hunter tells his kids to behave.

Hunter tells Paul not to talk about his family.

Paul says that he shouldn’t have brought up Hunter’s children because of the sins of the parents fall upon the children.

Stephanie McMahon comes out to the ring and she is not in a gregarious mood tonight.

Stephanie tells Heyman that he does not talk about her children ever again. She tells Paul if he wants to make it personal, these lawsuits are not about Brock, but about Paul’s failures as a businessman in WCW, ECW, and WWE.

Stephanie says that as a visionary, Paul is looking in the rear view mirror.

Stephanie says that her dad had the guts to step in the ring with her husband, unlike Brock. Stephanie says that Paul’s children are ashamed of Paul because they know that their father is nothing more than a professional parasite. Stephanie slaps Paul in the face.

Paul goes to the apron and he re-enters the ring. If this is how bad Stephanie wants it. Does she want her husband get hurt? Paul says that the match is on.

Paul applauds Stephanie and he says that she did it again and she got what she wanted. It is what her father taught her. Stephanie attacks Paul and punches him.

Brock’s music plays again and he comes out and does the Brock Bounce.

Lesnar sends Hunter into the corner and he punches him. Hunter with a kick and punches of his own. They exchange punches and Hunter with a knee. Hunter with a kick and punch followed by a clothesline that sends Brock over the top rope to the floor.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Scott Stanford mentions the videos that hyped the return of Chris Jericho. There was a man who challenged Chris Jericho and that man was Dolph Ziggler.

Dolph says that whether you like him or hate him, you wish you were him. He says that people are going to watch him and say that he is good. Booker says that Dolph talks a lot of trash but he backs it up in the ring. Will Sasso says that he likes watching Dolph and he says that this is amazing. He says that he does a lot of what Shawn Michaels did. David Otunga says that Dolph is so good and arrogant, but he backs it up.

Dolph says that he wants to be the best ever. One day he is going to be. He will go home as the show stealer each night.

Dolph confronted Chris Jericho on July 16th. Here is what happened:

Dolph comes to the ring with Vickie and he has something to say. Dolph reminds everyone that the briefcase has always been cashed in successfully. Dolph says that we are looking at the next World Champion. He says that it is a matter of time when he cashes in on Sheamus. At that time, he will become the greatest World Champion in history.

He will be better than Bret Hart, Steve Austin, The Rock. He will be the greatest.

Chris Jericho interrupts and he makes his way to the ring.

Ziggler cuts off Jericho and he tells Chris that tonight is not about him. Chris will not steal his spotlight or moment. Ziggler reminds Chris that he won his Money in the Bank match while Chris lost. Dolph asks Chris when did he last win something.

Dolph says that all he has heard since Chris came back is how great he is and how he is going to save us, how he is the best in the world at what he does, and how he will save us from the end of the world. What Chris does is lose. No one has been given more opportunities and main event matches than Chris Jericho. Chris has been coasting so long that he has everyone fooled. He says that Jericho is all hype.

He asks Chris when was the last time that he won an important match. He says that Chris cannot remember. Is it possible that Chris is losing his touch and that he can’t win the big one any more? The great Chris Jericho? Is Chris losing his touch. He says that he thinks Chris is losing his touch.

Jericho with a Codebreaker and Ziggler is out.

Jericho walks out of the ring without saying anything.

They met at SummerSlam and then the following night on Raw. We go to the August 20th episode of Raw:

Dolph Ziggler (with Vickie Guerrero) versus Chris Jericho in a Jericho’s contract and Ziggler’s Briefcase are on the Line Match

They lock up and Jericho with a side head lock. Jericho with a shoulder tackle but Jericho with a rollup for a near fall after a leap frog by Ziggler. Jericho gets another rollup for another near fall. Ziggler goes to the floor to regroup and discuss strategy with Vickie. Jericho with an inside cradle when Ziggler returns to the ring. Jericho with a kick to Ziggler.

Jericho with a chop followed by punches and forearms. Ziggler with a punch to the head and kicks to the ribs. Ziggler with a leaping elbow drop to the ribs and he gets a near fall. Ziggler with an elbow to the head followed by a punch and kick. Ziggler with an Irish whip but Jericho runs into a boot from Jericho. Jericho with a missile drop kick for a near fall.

Jericho back body drops Ziggler over the top rope to the floor and Jericho hits the springboard drop kick that sends Ziggler to the floor. We go to commercial.

We are back and Ziggler with a reverse chin lock. Ziggler takes Jericho back to the mat and Ziggler with a headstand to add more pressure to the hold. Ziggler with elbows to the neck followed by a leaping elbow drop for a near fall. Ziggler returns to the reverse chin lock. Jericho with a belly-to-back suplex to get out of the hold. Ziggler runs into a boot from Jericho.

Jericho with shoulder tackles but Jericho is sent to the apron. Jericho goes up top and hits a double sledge. Ziggler avoids the bulldog but Jericho puts Ziggler on the turnbuckles and chops him. Jericho tries for a Fameasser but Jericho blocks it and tries for the Walls of Jericho. Ziggler with a near fall. Jericho with a clothesline. Ziggler tries for the Zig Zag but Jericho holds on to the ropes. Jericho with a bulldog and then he tries for a Lionsault but lands on the knees. Ziggler hits the Zig Zag for the three count.

Winner: Dolph Ziggler

After the match, Dolph celebrates his victory while Jericho sits in the ring, wondering what is next for him.

Jericho grabs the briefcase and Vickie yells to tell Dolph to do something.

Jericho hits Ziggler with the briefcase and then he has an evil look on his face before hitting a Codebreaker on Ziggler.

Jericho leaves the ring, shaking hands with the fans.

Dolph was able to keep his briefcase against John Cena at TLC thanks to some help from AJ Lee.

The issues between John Cena and Dolph Ziggler continued this week on Raw when Dolph Ziggler attempted to cash in the briefcase but John Cena stopped him. They would meet again in a mixed tag match when Cena appeared to have Ziggler beaten but AJ Lee brought Big E Langston to the ring and he gave Cena the Big Ending.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Scott mentions some of the new faces who made an impact in the WWE. No one made a bigger impact than Ryback. Ryback was on the verge of winning the WWE Championship, but he was met by a three man roadblock known as The Shield.

We see the comments from The Shield and Ryback’s attempts to get revenge on The Shield.

We go to commercial.

We are back with highlights from this week’s Slammy Awards. The highlight of the Slammys might have been the return of Ric Flair. Let’s take a look at his portion of the show:

Coming out to present the Slammy for Superstar of the Year, it is the Sixteen Time World Champion Ric Flair.

Flair says that this is why he loves Philadelphia. The winner is John Cena.

The people of Philadelphia appear to have voted for one of the other three nominees. Cena agrees with Flair that this is a lively crowd. He says that Superstar of the Year embodies hustle, loyalty, and respect. They need to work harder than anybody else. Punk recognizes the loyalty of the WWE Universe. That is why out of respect he cannot accept this award. It should go to the greatest superstar of all time, the two time Hall of Famer Ric Flair.

CM Punk’s music plays and he makes his way onto the stage with Paul Heyman. Punk yells that the people screwed him. He says that this is ridiculous on so many levels. This does not belong to Flair because he hasn’t been here in the last calendar year. It is a travesty for anyone to vote for Cena. He got beat by a guy who he decimated before. Cena cashed in the Money in the Bank and lost. He lost last night. Cena is a loser like the people of Philadelphia. Punk says that he was Superstar of the Year last year and he has been champion for 393 days so he is the Superstar of the Year. He is the man, not Flair or Cena.

Flair says that it is time for Punk to go. He says that Punk has too much baggage so he cannot walk a block.

Punk says that with one leg he could still kick Flair’s ass. Flair asks Punk if he is talking about baggage like his four ex-wives.

Punk says that he could take care of everyone in Philadelphia.

Flair takes off his jacket and goes to the ring after challenging Punk.

Flair struts in the ring and Punk heads to the ring as we go to commercial.

We are back and CM Punk gets onto the apron. Flair holds the ropes open for Punk. Punk hits Flair with the crutches and then he does the Flair strut and Wooos.

Flair with a thumb to the eyes and then Flair puts Heyman in the figure four leg lock.

Flair says that he came here to have a good time. Ric tells Jerry that he loves him and they ain’t never going to lose either of them. Flair says that he told Vince that if he is going to die, it is going to happen in the ring or with a woman from Philadelphia. Flair says that he got to perform in one of the greatest sports towns.

Flair is interrupted by the Shield and they make their way to the ring. Flair tells them to come on down.

We are back and Daniel Bryan, Kane, and Ric Flair are fighting the Shield. Ambrose punches Flair and then he goes after Bryan who is working on Rollins. Reigns and Kane battle on the other side of the ring. Ambrose helps Reigns with Kane. They send Kane into the ringside barrier.

It is time for Roman Reigns to rearrange the announce table while Rollins and Ambrose work over Flair and then they set up Flair for the Three Man Power Bomb but Ryback’s music plays and he walks to the ring.

The Shield waits for Ryback to make his way to the ring. Ryback sends Ambrose into the ringside barrier. He takes care of Reigns and Rollins. Ryback presses Rollins over his head and drops him on the table and he bounces off of it. Ryback punches Rollins and the Shield get into the crowd and escape.

Ryback, Bryan, and Kane stand in the ring with Flair.
