Jack Tretton, the president and the chief executive officer of Sony Computer of America, is talking about the recently revealed PlayStation 4 gaming console in an official statement, focusing on the way the new gaming platform will be centered on the interests of the player.
The executive states via the official PlayStation Blog that, “PlayStation 4 is centered on all of you – the gamers. It redefines rich and immersive gameplay with powerful graphics and speed, intelligent personalization, deeply integrated social capabilities, and innovative second-screen features.”
Tretton goes on to repeat information that players already know from the New York event, including the fact that the new device will focus on delivering a lot of processing power and top of the line game experiences.
The CEO also talks about the wider PlayStation ecosystem, adding, “We see PS Vita as the ultimate companion device for PS4 and it’s our long-term vision to make most PS4 games playable on PS Vita, so you can bring your favorite games from the big-screen TV to your PS Vita over Wi-Fi.”
The executive is also eager to thank gamers for the fact that they are following Sony in its effort to use the PlayStation brand to enhance their gaming experience.
He also promises more information about the PlayStation 4 and its associated video game during the coming months, before a launch that will take place before Christmas.
The PlayStation 4 will be accompanied by launch titles that include Killzone: Shadow Fall, Drive Clun, Knack, Deep Down, Final Fantasy, Watch Dogs, Destiny and Agni’s Philosophy.
The console will include a central processing unit based on the X86 architecture, an enhanced GPU and 8 GB of unified memory.
Sony has not yet shown the actual design of the PlayStation 4 and an official price will probably only be offered close to launch.
