Records are meant to be broken, but the WWE has made that saying moot with the Undertaker. Standing at a perfect 20-0 at WrestleMania, there is nothing that holds as much value as the Undertaker’s spotless record in the long history of the WWE.
While there have been historic title reigns that have lasted over seven years, they don’t compare to the streak. It’s a feat that will never be duplicated.
The Undertaker lives for the streak, and without it, his career might not be the same. He would still go down as one of the greats, but that loss would be one for the ages. For the Undertaker, a loss at the biggest wrestling show would be a momentous WrestleMania moment – just one that nobody wants to see or believe will ever happen.

Tenure
In 1984, before there was such a character known as the Undertaker, WCCW first showcased Mark Calaway. After five years he would have a short one-year run in WCW. Nothing special occurred during that time. Then the Undertaker debuted for the WWE at the annual Survivor Series in 1990, and everything changed.
Almost 23 years later, the Undertaker is going stronger than ever. Physically, he might not be the same wrestler, as time is not kind to any athlete’s body, but his presence only grows as the years pass by.
Nobody is even close to possessing the Undertaker’s longevity, for few wrestlers have been with the WWE for 20-plus years in an active role.
List of WrestleMania Wins
Four of the victims on the Undertaker’s WrestleMania list are currently in the WWE Hall of Fame. Several other names in the streak are almost a lock to stand beside the HOF greats.
On three occasions, the Undertaker has left with a Slammy Award for Match of the Year. He took two of those when he defeated Shawn Michaels and once against Triple H. The Undertaker ended the career of Michaels and has handed the two D-Generation X founders losses for four straight years now. He could be credited for ending one of the most popular stables to grace the WWE ring.
Fans Still Want to See the Streak Continue
After two decades, it’s tough to swallow the idea that the WWE would end the streak. However, every year the WWE manages to make the fans believe, even if it’s for a split-second, that this could be the match that ends it all.
The Undertaker’s streak is able to keep the audience’s attention, despite the outcome almost a guarantee that “The Deadman” will be victories. It’s become a point that he must win as he’s expected to.
Somebody is going to miss out on appearing at WrestleMania because the Undertaker needs to put on a 20-minute showing and there aren’t too many fans complaining over this. When the gong sounds and the arena starts to fill with smoke as the Undertaker makes his slow walk to the ring, all eyes are on him.
The Undertaker is WrestleMania.

Five weeks out and the Internet has been buzzing about the possible return of the Undertaker and his place at this year’s WrestleMania. Since he’s closing in on 50-years old, his next WrestleMania match could be his last. Perhaps his final WrestleMania has already happened.
As the patriarch of the WWE roster, the Undertaker’s streak is the only creation that has never been broken. To stop the streak means not only the end of a bit of WWE lore, but the conclusion of the most respected star in the business.
The grandest prize in the wrestling business is the Undertaker’s streak. It’ll never be repeated and is arguably the most monumental statistic out there. The Undertaker is synonymous with his WrestleMania streak and when he retires, he’s taking a piece of history with him.
