Ireland's Conor McGregor had no troubles taking care of Marcus Brimage, scoring a first round TKO victory at UFC On FUEL TV: Mousasi Vs. Latifi.
McGregor (13-2) scored his 12th finish of his career via knockout, landing several uppercuts that floored Brimage. This was the Octagon debut for the 24-year-old.
"I think Marcus got a little too emotional," McGregor said. "You can't get emotional. He was overthrowing his shots."
McGregor, a double champion in Cage Warriors before signing with the UFC, got in the face of Brimage during weigh-ins and remained right there during the first minute of the fight. He told Kenny Florian there was no game plan going in, just to "fight wherever the fight takes place."
Competing in his UFC debut, McGregor added that it was "something I've never experienced," but he quickly asked UFC president Dana White for Knockout of the Night honors thanks to his performance.
