Chris Weidman understands that Anderson Silva is considered the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world, but sees himself as being better. He looks to prove that by making quick work of the long reigning UFC middleweight champion.
"I think I can beat him," said Weidman on The Fight Network. "There's a lot of motivation for the fight. One of the biggest for me is to prove all of those people that actually think I'm going to get killed and see him as unbeatable. I can't wait to prove them wrong. I want to make it look easy out there. I want to shock the world."

Weidman comes in undefeated with nine wins, having five of those be for the UFC. He comes in off wins over Demian Maia and Mark Munoz. It will be his first fight in over a year due to a shoulder injury.

Silva remains unstopped in the UFC with 16 wins and 10 title defenses. Those are just two records on a long list of achievements "The Spider" holds.

UFC 162 is July 6 and headlined with Silva vs. Weidman. It comes from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV.

Well have to admire his confidence I suppose. All he's done is beat cans and fat Munoz so far...I feel sorry for him though after Anderson clowns him within a round and all of his new fans jump off the bandwagon waiting for Andersons next opponent they can nut hug.

With Silva - Weidmann and GSP - Henderson interesting fights are ahead of us...but I think Silva vs Jones should happen end of this year!
