We noted that WWE may be one of the new channels on YouTube that will charge it's users a monthly subscription fee. In an update to that earlier report, WWE will not be part of YouTube's new paid service, according to Variety.
Variety's article notes that Google (which owns YouTube) reached out to WWE to be a part of the initiative, but WWE declined. WWE did not comment to Variety about the report.
WWE was among the first original channel partners for YouTube, launching WWE FanNation in February 2012. Their channel has served 528 million views to date and now has nearly 1.5 million subscribers, who don’t pay anything but receive alerts about new content.
