It was recently announced that Ultimate Poker has made it legal for Nevada residents to play online poker. In the same announcement, they confirmed a partnership with the UFC.
Ultimate Gaming chief executive marketing officer Joe Versaci talked with MMAFrenzy.com about what that partnership means for both companies.
"Massively important on multiple fronts in ways we cannot fully understand yet. Just from a brand awareness standpoint, the UFC is in 800 million homes and controls their own content, which means that – as the exclusive online gaming partner – we can have our name on the mat in large fights and we have access to their over 10 million Facebook users. This really helps in the critical 21-44 demo as many of them also watch the UFC. This drives down the cost of acquisition and allows us to pass value onto the players. So since our acquisition and marketing costs are low we can offer more rewards, exclusive UFC prizing, and we'll continue to do that. I mean just having the clout of the world's fastest-growing sport behind you is huge because then all the major media companies want to work with you and it allows you to enter any conversation you want to have in the sports and/or entertainment world. It makes it a lot easier for us to get things done than some other company that's having to work with lower level people in sports, we really get the door held open for us with a lot of these partners."
He added that plans are in place to expand the reach of the online gambling community in the future.
