- As noted earlier, Curtis Axel defeated Wade Barrett and The Miz at Payback tonight to become the new Intercontinental Champion. Axel achieved a milestone with the victory, as he and his father "Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig are the first father/son duo to win the championship.
