WWE issued a statement on the incident that took place during this week's tour in South Africa.
"Tonight Randy Orton was violently attacked from behind by a South African fan, who is currently being held in jail pending criminal charges. The extent of Orton's injuries are unknown at this time."
TMZ also picked up on the story, along with a video that confirms that Randy Orton was hit in the groin by a random fan, who was then removed from the ring by security.
