Microsoft revealed a while back that the company was working on an official Facebook app for Windows 8 and Windows RT, along with apps such as Flipboard and NFL Fantasy Football. Now, it appears that we will see the official Facebook app when Windows 8.1 is released.
Microsoft is set to roll out the Facebook app on the same day that Windows 8.1 is to be released. Windows 8.1 will roll out as an update for Windows 8 users on October 17th via the Windows Store.
"Announcing that #Windows 8.1 update will come accompanied by the official app of... Facebook! thumbs up!" Microsoft's Windows Espana stated on Twitter today. This is great news for those who are avid Facebook users who want an official app to use rather than all the third party apps available currently in the Windows Store.
