Then, following next week’s Raw, will not only be the June Month in Review, but the 2014 Mid-Year Report, as we are halfway through with 2014. Now, to this week’s news & notes.
On Raw, we started the night with Jimmy Uso VS Luke Harper, in a re-match from Main Event on June 10. This was the 1st opener for both since Smackdown on May 2 & the 4th match to take place twice on Main Event & Raw. Then, we had the other half of The Usos wrestle the other half of the Wyatt Family, as Jey Uso took on Erick Rowan. This was a re-match from Smackdown on June 13, the 13th match to take place twice on Smackdown & Raw only, and the 1st time in 2014 that The Usos both competed in singles matches on the same show. Then, we had 3 matches in a row that were taking place for the 1st time in 2014, Naomi VS Alicia Fox, Bo Dallas VS Titus O’Neil, & Rob Van Dam VS Seth Rollins. Van Dam VS Rollins ended in a Disqualification, which was the 2nd week in a row that Raw had a Disqualification. Then Dolph Ziggler challenged Bad News Barrett for the Intercontinental Title, in a re-match from Smackdown on June 20, & 3rd time overall, since they also wrestled on Raw on April 10. This was the 8th Intercontinental Championship Match of 2014, 1st since Smackdown on June 6, bringing the Title Match count to 81 overall & 48 for WWE. This was the 1st time since Adam Rose VS Jack Swagger on May 30 & June 2 to take place on Smackdown and then be re-matched the following week on Raw. This was the 4th match to take place on Raw, Smackdown, & then Raw again. Next, Big E wrestled Damien Sandow, in a re-match from Superstars on April 26, making it the 3rd match to take place only on Superstars & Raw. Welcome to Week 26 of 2014. This is week is a big week. We had our 3rd Pay-Per-View of the month & 2nd for WWE, Money In the Bank.
Then, we were supposed to get Vickie Guerrero VS Stephanie McMahon, but the bell never rang, so there was no official match, therefore it doesn’t count. Then, we got Kofi Kingston VS Jack Swagger, in a re-match from Raw on February 17, making it the 13th Raw only re-match. Next, Big E wrestled Damien Sandow, in a re-match from Superstars on April 26, making it the 3rd match to take place only on Superstars & Raw. Then, we saw the 2nd match to be a re-match from last week’s Smackdown, as John Cena, Roman Reigns, & Sheamus wrestled Cesaro, Alberto Del Rio, Randy Orton, & Bray Wyatt, in a 4-on-3 Handicap Match. This was the 2nd main event in a row for everyone, Cena’s 3rd main event in a row & 2nd Raw main event in a row.
