THEY chanted, they booed, they laughed, they added some Malaysian flavour and they had a night to remember.

For most Malaysians, the WWE LIVE was the best opportunity to see some of their favourite superstars up close and even touch them, if they sat at ringside.

Fans, who most donned their favourite wrestler t-shirt and gear, started flooding the Putra Indoor Stadium, Bukit Jalil as early as 5pm.

A good 30 minutes before the show started, the 10,000-odd crowd were already beginning to chant the famous line, “Lets go Cena … Cena sucks”.

It was clear that the fans were feeding off the energy and vibes of the WWE.

The show started of with Kofi Kingston and Big E versus The Wyatt Family’s Luke Harper and Erik Rowan.

The fans cheered for their favourites and booed those they disliked, and they counted with the referee each time he counted a pinfall attempt.

For those who watch wrestling regularly, they would be familiar the different chants that fit certain wrestlers and the action they were watching, “This is Awesome” and “This is Awful” filled the arena at times.

But all of a sudden, I heard this, “Balik lah balik” and “Referee Kayu” being chanted, which reminded those who had forgotten that WWE was indeed here in Malaysia.

The fans were vocal and energetic throughout. They rushed to the barriers that separated them from the ring, as soon as each match was over, in hope to touch or take pictures with the superstars that may walk by.

When Bo Dallas took the microphone to speak to the Malaysian crowd, they reacted to each pause with a word that Stone Cold Steve Austin made famous, “What?”.

The main event saw John Cena versus Seth Rollins in a “Street Fight” match in which Cena won after delivering the “Attitude Adjustment” finisher to Rollins, through a table.
