WWE / Tapout licensing deal rumor

One of the rumors making the rounds over the last couple of days is that WWE is about to announce a licensing deal with Tapout, the MMA-centric apparel company.

When WWE was contacted about the rumor, WWE responded, "WWE is exploring several partnership opportunities, however we have nothing official to announce at this time."

I was surprised when I heard this to be real. I can't remember the last time I heard TapOut, I didn't even think they were still relevant. It essentially plays right into a stereotype that WWE should desperately be looking to avoid. Why would you want to partner with a brand that has a terrible rep among MMA fans and others.

I know we joke about WWE being behind the times, but who seriously wears Tapout shirts in 2015 besides Bert and people who get paid to wear them?

Wouldn't be caught dead in any of their clothing, but I'm sure it'll sell. So, good for them.
