WWE have registered to trademark the old Kliq hand gesture for merchandise purposes.

The Bullet Club currently uses the same gesture.

In fact, The Young Bucks are currently selling t-shirts with the sign on their ProWrestlingTees.com store.

Below is WWE's version that they are trying to trademark:

Too sweet me before we get sued for continuing to use this.

Ronnie James Dio made this famous and he admits he too it from his Grandmother, so it must be ancient. How can they trademark something that is so old?

I'm sure if the Bullet Club wanted to fight this they may have a case for it, but typically things like this will go to the big corporation that goes unopposed. If enough people came together and said that this has been around far before WWE had it linked to the Kliq then there is a chance they will not be approved for the trademark. Regardless, I think the WWE will probably pull this off.

WWE does this kind of thing to keep from being sued . They dont care a bit about the Bucks or the Bullet club . For example look at the trouble Honky Tonk Man caused by trademarking the Patroit name . WWE cant air footage on the network of the guy without cutting acheck to HTM . Dale Wilkes was to stupid to secure the rights to his own name .
