After the Lollapalooza festival this year the Grant Park looks better than ever.
Earlier this year the Lollapalooza festival was held at the Grant Park. According to the Chicago Park District the Grant Park suffered damages. It was during the Lollapalooza festival. The Lollapalooza promoters will now spend about $200,000 on the park.
The payment will be made for the damages which occurred during the festival. The Grant Park in Chicago was m=damaged due to the onslaught of people during the rainy season. The Lollapalooza festival had been taking place in Chicago for 11 years.
The actual amount for renovation is $236,223.48 in 2015, according to Chicago Sun-Times. Although in 2011 due to torrential downpour the park suffered damages worth $800,000.
This year the third day of the festival was the rain day. The festival had to be cut short due to the downpour. The festival was ended 45 minutes earlier. Thousands of attendees were asked to leave before the weather worsened.
Lollapalooza has a contract with the park district. Under the contract a contractor was sent to assess the situation. A restoration plan along with a budget plan was worked on then. The financial responsibility lands on Lollapalooza under the contract.
The restoration work is currently under way for the park. The restoration will continue until September. The park has never looked better than now. According to the officials the exact time restorations ends depends upon the weather.
Until the restorations are complete the park has been closed. The park will open as soon as work on it ends. After its opening the activities schedules in the park will take place as usual.
