The Hollywood Reporter reports that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is teaming up with Disney to star in a big screen adaptation of the popular Jungle Cruise theme park ride.
Disney has been trying to get the movie going for over a decade. As one of Disneyland's original attractions, the Jungle Cruise takes riders through Africa's Nile and Congo rivers. The Rock commented:
“[Disney production president] Sean Bailey and Disney have been awesome partners and now the fun part begins ... We’re starting to put in the work with Requa and Ficarra and our creative team. Fired up about this one. Here we go.”
