As noted recently via PWInsider, John Cena vs. The Undertaker was rumored to be one of the main events WWE had planned for WrestleMania 32 next year. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, however, Cena vs. Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship was planned, at least until Seth Rollins was injured. This matches reports regarding Reigns being rumored to beat Rollins for the title at WWE Survivor Series, or soon after.
Additionally, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Rollins was set to face Triple H at WrestleMania 32. The Rock vs. HHH was originally talked about for the show, however that changed when WWE creative was reportedly informed that both The Rock and Ronda Rousey would not be available to wrestle next year.
The Rock apparently has an insurance problem, as he was told that he wouldn’t receive insurance coverage for a movie he is filming in 2016 if he were to do pro wrestling, due to the obvious risk of injury in the ring. Unless something changes between now and WrestleMania 32, the best fans can hope for is another non-wrestling appearance by “The Great One.”
If the Cena vs. Undertaker rumors are true, it could mean another Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar match at WrestleMania. The original plan for The Undertaker’s WrestleMania 32 match was another bout with Lesnar until WWE moved that up to Hell In A Cell and blew off the feud.
