Sheamus spoke to Tom Phillips backstage after Survivor Series about his decision to cash in Money in the Bank. Sheamus asked Tom if he knows how long he’s been waiting for this moment. The decision for Sheamus to cash in and become WWE Champion was not settled on until just hours before the show. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE officials were going back and forth all day on Sunday before finally settling on Sheamus winning. The plan is still for Roman Reigns to wind up with the WWE title sooner than later. As we heard last night at Survivor Series, a good portion of the audience was still rejecting Reigns. This could be a case of WWE first putting the title on an even less desirable person (Sheamus) so a Reigns title win will be received better than it was last night.
