According to WWE.com, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin is officially retired from wrestling. The official WWE website ran a feature about how retiring wrestlers have “said goodbye” to WWE.
The feature lists his WrestleMania 19 match against The Rock as his retirement match. The ‘Mania match was not billed as a retirement match, but it did end up being Austin’s last time competing in the ring.
Despite Austin stating on more than one occasion that he doesn’t want to get back in the ring, there have been rumors on the internet of him returning at this year’s WrestleMania in Texas. Austin killed the rumors by saying there’s “no amount of money WWE could offer” him to get back in the ring.
The WWE Hall of Famer also stated last month that he is “99.9% sure” that he’s already wrestled his last match.
