As seen in his blog posted on Monday, WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross alluded to changes coming to WWE SmackDown when the show moves to the USA Network.
JR wrote the following:
“Expect some noticeable changes to WWE Smackdown when it moves to the USA Network in January. Hopefully, RAW and Smackdown will be more episodically produced after they both start airing on the same network.”
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported on Wednesday that “at least one significant change” is on the way.
While there aren’t many details regarding what the “significant” change or changes will be, it could be related to the look and production style of the show, or possibly some on-air talent changes, such as changes to the announce team.
As Ross noted in his blog, it could also have something to do with the fact that both shows will be on the same network, which would allow WWE to produce shows that are more episodic in nature.
WWE SmackDown premieres on the USA Network on Thursday, January 7, 2016.
