As we covered last week, Rey Mysterio appeared on the PodNasty wrestling and explained his decision sign with Lucha Underground. The former WWE World Heavyweight champion also talked about WWE and why it’s been so hard for him to watch the product in recent years.
Although the travel schedule was probably part of it, Rey revealed that WWE’s creative direction might have also played a factor in him deciding to work elsewhere. During the podcast appearance, Rey said WWE storylines were so repetitive and uninspiring that he wouldn’t even watch the show when he worked there and had time off. He still watches WWE occasionally these days to see Alberto Del Rio and The Lucha Dragons, but he can’t sit down and watch a full show.
