WWE taped this week’s edition of SmackDown, the first episode to air in its’ new cable home on the USA Network, on Tuesday night in Laredo, Texas. Below are results from the tapings.
– Mauro Ranallo, the new voice of SmackDown, heads down to ringside to join Jerry Lawler and Byron Saxton at the announce table.
– John Cena’s music hits and out he comes to kick off the first episode of SmackDown on the USA Network. He challenges Alberto Del Rio to give him another shot at the WWE United States Championship because of how their match ended in his RAW comeback two weeks ago. Del Rio refuses and taunts Cena.
– Kalisto def. Alberto Del Rio in a non-title match that was apparently an excellent first match of the evening for the live crowd.
The Miz hosted Miz TV and the segment included appearances by New Day, Dolph Ziggler, R-Truth, and Neville.
– Dolph Ziggler, Goldust, R-Truth, and Neville defeated New Day and The Miz.
– Charlotte defeated Becky Lynch to retain the WWE Divas Championship.
– Dean Ambrose fought Kevin Owens to a double count out in an Intercontinental Title match.
