It’s been a crazy few weeks for WWE leading up to next weekend’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view, capped off by John Cena going down with a shoulder injury that could keep him out of action until the summer. Booking plans for the Rumble finish have been finalized and according to f4wonline.com, whatever unfolds is going to be a setup for a major match at Fastlane.
This year’s Rumble features the unique stipulation of the winner walking out as WWE World Heavyweight champion. Since this year’s Rumble winner won’t be earning the customary WWE title shot, the main event of Fastlane will likely determine the WrestleMania main event challenger.
WWE officials are determined to position Fastlane as a must-see show, as evidenced by Brock Lesnar being advertised to appear.
